Keep proper surveillance on areas of concern: SSP Pulwama

Srinagar, May 3: The SSP Pulwama Mohd Yousif today asked the officers to keep proper surveillance on areas of concern while urging them to work towards preventing social crimes, and cybercrimes, ensuring necessary measures to combat drug abuse and trafficking.
The directions were passed during a crime/security review meeting at District Police Office Pulwama which was attended by several police officers of the district.
During the meeting, the officers discussed a range of important issues such as anti-terrorist operations, disposal of pending UAPA/NDPS cases, security of vulnerable persons, input generation and the G-20 Summit.
The officers were urged to work towards preventing social crimes & cybercrimes and to take necessary measures to combat drug abuse and trafficking.
While interacting with the officers, SSP Pulwama reiterated the importance of strengthening the counter-insurgency and security grid of their respective areas, besides taking stringent action against those involved in anti-national activities.
He also stressed keeping proper surveillance on areas of concern and also to take action against those who are involved in the illegal extraction of minerals.
The participating officers provided an overview of the security scenario in their respective areas and briefed SSP Pulwama on the security measures being taken to counter any potential threats.
They were instructed to adopt a public-centric approach to policing and to ensure that the grievances of the public are addressed on time.
Addl. SP Pulwama, DySP Hqrs Pulwama, DySP PCs, DySP DAR, SHOs and Incharge PPs of Police District Pulwama attended the meeting. The meeting was held to discuss and address various challenges related to policing and security in the region.
