Keep health sector healthy

Sir,
I take the opportunity to appreciate the Government for allocating Health and Medical Education Department to  Lal Singh as Minister keeping in view his previous experience and strength to catch the bull by the horn.
Presently, the state of all Health Centres, SMGS, Super-Speciality and GMC is deplorable as these institutions are totally unhygienic, under-staffed, machinery outdated and once damaged never repaired, non-availability of medicines (including  life saving drugs and facilities that are provided free of cost never provided to the patients) total anarchy and mess in the Administrative functioning.
Public are dejected as there is no set procedure while admitting patients, attendants have to run here and there in search of doctors, nurses or para-medicos. Doctors never come on their own and are seen gossiping with their group mates. Even the medicines that are to be provided to the patients from the hospital free of cost are never available. Doctors’ approach is very casual and rough while dealing with the patients from the  weaker strata. Senior doctors or specialists are never available in the evenings/nights and patients having serious ailments have to wait for the next day for senior doctor to come and check him. Fate of such patients is left at the hands of apprentice doctors to experiment on the patient night long and if the patients survives through the experiment of these apprentice doctors night long only then he will see the light of the day and senior doctor to attend him.
I am writing this to bring genuine grievances of the general public into the notice of the Health and Education Minister, J&K so that some arrangements are made that the senior doctors/specialists are present at night, medicines that are provided free of cost to the patients  are available in the hospitals and list of such medicines/facilities are pasted in each wards/emergencies so that the patients/attendants are aware of the facilities provided free of cost in the hospitals. Funds should be kept reserved for maintenance of machinery in hospitals and annual maintenance contracts should be made so that the machinery once faulted is repaired immediately for the convenience of the patients and attendants. Laboratories should be modernised so that the reports are reliable and accurate. Reputed doctors that retire may be re-employed for a particular period and good number of eligible doctors should be inducted on contractual basis from inside  state/outside state to meet out requirement in almost all fields of Medical Sciences in the State. Doctors should  be ever ready to face any situation in a composed manner. And above all, doctors are well equipped and informed about the  latest techniques/development in the Medical Sciences by way of trainings outside State and abroad for the benefit of the masses.
Yours etc…
