Srinagar, Feb 6: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today sought roll back of levy of tax on semi-stitched garments.
While welcoming the remission of 100 percent penalty and interest on the arrears of VAT tax, the KCCI president, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani in a statement said that levy of tax on semi-stitched garments is “unwarranted and undesirable” as the same is not applicable anywhere in the country.
He added that such tax is “intolerable” and KCCI along with the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) would urge the Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, to roll back the said tax on semi-stitched garments with immediate effect.
