KCCC thrashes YWCCC to seal berth in quarters

JAMMU, July 4: Star-studded Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) in absence of its regular skipper Manik Gupta and some other prominent players thrashed YWCCC by a big margin of 81 runs to seal berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Cup, being played at newly laid turf at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, KCCC stand-in skipper Raman Thaploo won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, KCCC scored a decent total of 146 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 6 wickets in the process. Sahil Lotra top scored with 40 runs, while Ramdayal contributed 30 runs. Soumay Jain and wicketkeeper batsman scored valuable 20 runs each. Jatin Wadhawan chipped in with 8 runs.
KCCC lost two early wickets in openers Vimarsh Kaw and Suryansh Raina, however, useful partnerships between Ramdayal and Sahil Lotra and Raman Thaploo and Lotra took the score to a respectable total of 146 runs. Almost all the batsmen played sensibly and hit the ball with fluidity and grace. From YWCCC, Vishal and Ronak took 2 wickets each, while Karan and Sahil shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, YWCCC bundled out for a paltry total of 65 runs in 13 overs, thus los the match by a huge margin of 81 runs. Rahul top scored with 13 runs, while Sahil and Naman chipped in with 11 runs each. Vishal was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Akash Choudhary bagged 2 wickets. Ramdayal, Ajay Sudan, Vimarsh Kaw and Soumay Jain claimed 1 wicket each.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Maalik and Madan Lal as umpires, while Shiv Kumar was the scorer.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Arjun Chowdhary, Managing Director KC Sports Club, while the matches are being supervised by Sanjeev Sharma, organizing secretary of the Tournament.
