JAMMU, June 25: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA, Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta today visited Greater Kailash area in Ward 68 to start the new developmental works in the area. The works on the interior lanes of Greater Kailash are in progress and maximum lanes will be upgraded before the rains, Gupta said.
While addressing a well attended gathering organised by Anil Kumar Councillor, Gupta said Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of the country and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is serious in the overall development of the State and upliftment of every section of the society in the State. Due to militancy the State has suffered a lot and it is far behind as compared to other states in terms of the development, he added.
He said J&K needed a special attention for which Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had given a special package to cope up with the hardships the State has suffered due to militancy.
A meeting was also organised to discuss the modalities for the membership drive that will be organised from July 6 to August 11. The drive will be conducted all over the country to expand the base of the party. The J&K BJP had already appointed district-level conveners and co-conveners for a month-long drive. “We have to strengthen the BJP in all the areas of the State in general and in Gandhi Nagar Constituency in particular,” Gupta added.
The former Deputy Chief Minister was flanked by Baldev Billowria, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Darshan Grover, Nishu Naryana, Rakesh Charak (Raka), Rohit Verma.
