JAMMU, Nov 17: Speaker, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today convened a public grievances redressal camp at Akali Koul Singh Nagar in Digiana.
During the camp, the people projected various issues related to welfare and development of their respective areas seeking an early redresal to the same.
The issues raised by the people included improvement in several main and link roads, blacktopping, sanitation and surface clearance of drains, community bathrooms, toilets and clearance of garbage from Digiana canal etcetra.
While responding to public issues, the Speaker said that deep drain has been sanctioned for Digiana Puli canal and the work on it will start soon. He added that efforts are being made to ensure that all the main and link roads are blacktopped within shortest possible time. He asked the officers to put in hard efforts to ensure that all pending works are completed within the given timeline.
Elucidating Government’s initiatives envisaging improvement in basic amenities in every part of the State, the Speaker reiterated that Government is committed to provide enhanced services to the public in a phased manner. He also appealed the people to work collectively in development process of their respective areas so that the Government schemes are implemented effectively.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta inaugurated newly constructed inaugurated newly constructed examination hall at Government Girls High School, Bhour Camp Chatha.
Constructed with a cost of Rs 22 lakh, the examination hall would also be utilized for co-curricular events, workshops and other education oriented activities.
