JAMMU, Dec 14: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today conducted an extensive visit to the interiors of Gangyal area and reviewed the status of public amenities available to people there.
Kavinder Gupta dedicated Distribution Transformer at Babliana. He took note of necessary interventions required to upgrade the basic infrastructure in the locality including construction of lanes, drains, roads, drinking water and other concerned departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta informed the locals that many works earlier brought to his notice have either been completed and for the remaining works codal formalities have been completed and soon the work shall start. He said the funds for projects of roads of Sainik Colony, renovation and upgradation of existing damaged repair workshop at Nanak Nagar, upgradation of main Babliana road from Rajiv Gandhi Hospital to Peer Baba at Gangyal including Barsati Nallah, construction of road from Bathindi to Ratti Sarai via Bermini, development of playground at Panjpeer Bathindi and construction of sports field at Sainik Colony have been approved by the Finance Department which are worth 12 crore.
Soon the work will start on the approved projects. For some works detailed project reports are being prepared for execution. He said that a carefully calculated plan is being chalked out for phase by phase public infrastructure development of the area.
The execution of these projects will be meticulously carried out in a phased and time-bound manner, he said. For his, he directed the concerned agencies to conduct a detailed feasibility report in accordance with the topography, other factors to ensure durability, longevity of the works being undertaken.
He also urged Rural Development, PWD, PHE and other departments to regularly interact with locals, local representatives to gauge the on ground performance of their respective departments and to keep channels of communication open for public. He stressed Government officers for reaching out to public for all the Government schemes of socio economic aspects, development, agricultural and all other fields so that they can be benefitted to the optimum level.
Locals also brought some other issues to his notice for early disposal. Gupta was accompanied by Baldev Blowria, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Jaideep Sharma among others.
