JAMMU, Nov 12: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today visited Digiana and Rani Talab to take stock of progress on various welfare initiatives and development projects.
The Speaker was accompanied by Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary.
Speaking to the residents, the Speaker said that due cognizance is being taken for all concerns put forth by them and actions have been initiated to resolve the same.
Kavinder said, “with an aim to provide long-term solution to the day to day woes of people with regard to sanitation in the area, a project worth Rs 5.82 crore has been approved for construction of a proper drainage network in the locality and for interconnecting it with the existing deep drain network.”
The Speaker also launched macadamization works worth Rs 1.87 crore in the area, which includes Cremation Ground, Digiana to Digiana Pully stretch and Police Station to Rani Talab stretch.
He announced that additional road upgradation projects are also in pipeline for Sanjay Nagar, Preet Nagar and adjoining localities, which will be taken up in near future.
