JAMMU, Oct 9: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta along with Minister of State for Education and Tourism, Priya Sethi conducted extensive inspection of various public parks in Channi Himmat area to review the status of facilities there.
The Speaker and the Minister interacted with the locals and listened to their issues pertaining to renovation and maintenance of parks including proper lighting, sanitation, dustbins, augmentation of water supply, installation of gates, heightening of fence, security and repair of pathways etc.
Responding to the issues, the Speaker said that all necessary amenities are being developed with special focus on regular maintenance of parks and gardens.
He asked the concerned agencies to work in close coordination to ensure proper upkeep and beautification of parks with focus on timely completion. He also appealed the people to extend their cooperation in proper maintenance of these beautiful spaces in their respective areas.
Priya Sethi exhorted upon the concerned officials to prepare a comprehensive report for raising new facilities in various parks besides renovation of existing ones. She said that improved facilities will facilitate the visitors with a more comfortable and relaxed environment thus providing them an opportunity to lighten themselves from the routine anxieties and worries.”
Director Floriculture Jammu Babila Rakwal, senior functionaries of concerned departments besides members of Resident Welfare Committee and other prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Priya Sethi visited Nagrota Park at Karan Nagar and Panj Peer Manda Park and directed the concerned officials for better upkeep of the parks.
Priya Sethi stressed upon the concerned officers for close monitoring to ensure proper maintenance of parks and green patches as they provide inherent environmental benefits to the people. She said that the Government is determined to provide requisite facilities in all parks across the region to facilitate the people with recreational environment.
