Kavinder inaugurates free medical camp

JAMMU, Feb 19: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today inaugurated a free medical camp at Lakshmi Narayana Mandir organized by the Rotary Club Jammu City in collaboration with Swift Hospital Amritsar.
A team of expert doctors from Swift Hospital Amritsar including Chief ENT and Head/Neck Surgeon, Dr Prahlad Duggal, Neuro Surgeon, Dr Dushyant Thaman, Chief Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Ravijot Singh and Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Dr Vikas Kakkar extended healthcare services to the participants of the camp.
While speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta appreciated the camp organizers saying that such philanthropic measures are the need of the hour to save many precious lives of poor and needy people. “Such medical camps immensely help in early detection of several prevalent ailments besides suggesting preventive measures to the people at their doorsteps”, he added.
Speaker said the problem of chronic diseases in the country has assumed epidemic proportions and such initiatives by the medicos are imperative for educating the people about the symptoms of various diseases besides recommending preventive measures so that they get timely treatment.
During the camp, patients were provided free medicines and were assured free follow up visits.
Among others who were present on the occasion included President, Rotary Club, Gulchain Singh Charak, members of Rotary Club, trustees of Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Trust and patients.
