JAMMU, MARCH 25: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today visited Bahu Fort and took stock of the arrangements put in place for the Navratras.
The Speaker took a threadbare review of the arrangements and directed the concerned to make coordinated efforts for the smooth conduct of the rituals. He directed the officers to ensure uninterrupted power, water supply and proper sanitation in and around the temple.
The Speaker asked the concerned officials of PHE, PDD, Municipal and other concerned to ensure the basic facilities are provided to the pilgrims during these days.
Addressing a gathering of people, the Speaker assured them that Government is working for the welfare of the people and every genuine problem of the people will be addressed.
He asked the people for maintenance of cleanliness in and around the temple, as it is our prime duty to maintain sanitation so every pilgrim coming here should use dustbins.
Later interacting with the locals, the Speaker assured them that their demands for deep drainage system and the repairs of road would be taken up soon.
SDM South Jammu, Joint Commissioner JMC besides other officials of concerned departments accompanied the Speaker.
