JAMMU, Feb 16: Speaker J&K, Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today toured Ward-49 of Gandhi Nagar along with Baldev Billoria, Surjeet Chowdhary, Ankush Gupta, Raj Kumar, Kulbir Charak, Ashok Kumar and other prominent citizens of the area.
Gupta went from street to street and interacted with locals at various places and gave patient hearing to them. Locals apprised him of their sufferings and said that due to poor conditions of roads they are suffering a lot and it becomes their nightmare during rainy season as the road is converted in to a nallah due to last year’s floods and this has happened due to some encroachments which came up under the very nose of previous representative of Gandhi Nagar who only facilitated things for the personal benefits of few blue eyed person.
He physically verified the lanes of the area which were in dilapidated conditions; people told him that it becomes very difficult for them to even reach their homes during rainy season due to water logging in these lanes; old aged people, small children become vulnerable to water borne diseases during monsoons.
Gupta, while taking a dig on the previous National Conference-Congress regime, said that the previous Government always thought of their personal benefits and gave a hard blow on the face of common man by indulging in corrupt practices and doing low quality work which made the life of common man miserable.
Assuring the people that justice will be done to them; Kavinder Gupta called the officers of concerned department and directed them to make a thorough plan for the development of the area and said that funds will be made available to them for its implementation through administrative department and said that it is his primary responsibility to provide all the basic amenities to the people of his constituency.
He said that the promise of making Gandhi Nagar a model constituency is his dream and he is committed for the same, the first and the foremost thing in doing the same is providing quality roads as they are being used by every section of the society.
He also said that no compromise will be done with the quality of work and special care will be taken in the execution of works.
