JAMMU, Feb 22: Reacting strongly and sharply to the statement given by the former Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, wherein he accused the BJP of “polarizing the country on communal lines” former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta has said that the statements issued by the Abdullahas after Pulwama incident is the outcome of their sheer frustration.
As their main frustration is due to the fact that presently the national forces are coming under one umbrella to fight against anti national elements. He said that those Kashmiri students who are studying outside State are safe and the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh has taken note of the issue. Kavinder maintained that only those elements were reportedly targeted, who were involved in sharing the objectionable material on the social media sites.
Gupta added that no such element will be spared, who spearhead communal and anti-India hatred through any kind of media. He said every fish whether big or small who will be found involved in such types of anti-social activities should be interrogated and penalised under the sections of law. On the issue of development, Gupta said that every citizen of the State is already aware of the pace and progress of developmental projects taken up in all the three administrative divisions of the State, but it is unfortunate on the part of NC chief patron, that only he is not seeing any such development in the State.
On the issue of resumption of duty free Cross-Line of Control (LoC) trade between India-Pakistan at Chakan-Da-Bagh in J&K’s Poonch district, Gupta said that Prime Minister, Modi has already snapped MFN status from Pakistan and announced imposition 200% import duty on the goods imported from Pakistan, but it is learnt that the goods have been imported as per old notification which is duty free. He appealed Governor administration to take note of this and implement the imposition of 200% import duty in the process of trade at the earliest.
He said we should not encourage the Cross-border trade with Pakistan at this juncture, where the nation is mourning the martyrdom of the brave soldiers.
