Rs 15 cr sanctioned for Jammu city for current fiscal
JAMMU: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today asked the officers of Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to expedite the pace of ongoing works under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for mitigating the problems related to sewerage, sanitation and drainage in Jammu.
The Speaker issued these instructions during a meeting convened at Gandhi Nagar here to review the progress of projects under AMRUT.
It was informed in the meeting that Rs 15 crore has been sanctioned under AMRUT in Jammu city for the current financial year. The areas under prime consideration in Jammu include Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony, Preet Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Digiana, Gadigarh, Satwari, Chatha, Nai Basti, Pamposh Colony, Bathindi, Sunjwan, Gandhi Nagar, Rajeev Nagar, Bhour Camp, Sanjay Nagar, Apna Vihar, Greater Kailash, Bahu Fort, Shastri Nagar and others.
While addressing the meeting, the Speaker said that improvement in the quality of public services, economic competitiveness and involving of common masses in the process of transformation is important for improved day-to-day life of the people. For ensuring comprehensive and sustainable development of these areas, the quality of the work should be maintained, he added.
Later, the Speaker launched JK Car Mart and its Mobile App which can be used by the people for buying and selling used and new cars.
Executive Engineer Rajan Sharma, AEE Vijay Singh and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
