JAMMU, May 25: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta came down heavily on the opposition parties for supporting a call for Bharat Bandh on May 26 amid the existing crisis like situation due to the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic across the nation.
In a statement issued to media here today, the former Deputy CM said that it is an irony that the opposition parties are leaving no opportunity even during the ongoing pandemic to satiate their petty interests for mere political scoring while least bothering about the consequences that may lead to aggravation of the already disastrous situation.
Kavinder asserted that on one hand these opposition parties castigate the Central Government even for allowing limited gatherings, and at the same time they are extending support to Samyukta Kisan Morcha’s Bharat Bandh call that will lead to gatherings and dangerous spread of the deadly Corona virus at this very critical juncture.
He expressed astonishment over the fact that why the opposition parties are indulging in such misadventures that can lead not only to loss of precious lives but also uncontrollable spread of Corona virus.
