Kavinder distributes LPG connections under PMUY

JAMMU, July 23: Former Dy. Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today conducted a tour of his Gandhi Nagar Constituency to listen pubic grievances, problems and other developmental issues relating to roads, health care, education, power, lanes and drains, traffic congestions, parking and renovation of parks.
He visited Bhour Camp, Chatha, Dharp, Khawas Khan, Sunjwan and other rural areas of his home Constituency. While interacting with the locals, apart from listening to the grievances of the people, Gupta informed them about the existing welfare schemes of the Government such as Ujala, Ujwala Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padao (BBBP), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Surakhsha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantra Awas Yojana (PMAY) etc.
Gupta also distributed LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) among BPL beneficiaries at Govindpura. Reiterating Government’s commitment to work for public welfare, Kavinder Gupta said the Government has envisaged this scheme to provide women with a safe and clean provision of fuel for cooking.
Highlighting the objectives of PMUY, Gupta said the scheme aims to safeguard the health of women and children by replacing the unclean cooking fuels, mostly used in rural India, with clean and more efficient LPG.
Ensuring women’s empowerment, especially in rural India, the connections are issued in the name of women of the households, he added.
He directed the concerned officials and social activists of the area to identify more BPL families through Socio-Economic Caste Census Data and ensure that no eligible beneficiary was left out.
Addressing the gathering, Baldev Singh Blowria, district president of the party cautioned the people against the false propaganda of opposition parties who exploited the people for 65 years for their vested interests.
District general secretary, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Corporator Hardev Singh, Ex-Corporator, Hardeep Kour, Pitamber Sharma, Rinku Chohan, Dr. Happy, Kuldeep, among others were present on the occasion.
