Kavinder conducts whirlwind tour of Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, May 10: Kavinder Gupta , Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly while touring Gandhi Nagar Constituency held series of public meetings at Nanak Nagar Ward No. 42, Near Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Satwari along with officers of concerned departments and listened to the grievances of the general masses.
Gupta gave a patient hearing to the problems of the people. While interacting with  people at these places, he came to know that nothing has been done on ground by the previous Government and their claims of development are just vague. People are living a miserable life and nothing concrete is visible. People highlighted their demands, basic demands among them were to improve the Sanitation facilities, Providing Parking space, Improvement in electricity supply, Widening of roads for proper movement of traffic, replacing old electric wires.
While touring the area, he was astonished to know that favourtism and nepotism prevailed  in previous regime while disposing of pension and  relief cases and the deserving people suffered due to negligence of the previous government. Gupta assured that in this government these things will not happen and relief will be provided at the doorstep of needy
Speaker directed the concerned officials to bring transparency and accountability in their working and if any officers is found involved in corrupt practices than stern action will be taken against him. He also directed them to implement the ongoing schemes of the government in letter & spirit and expedite the pace of work.
Gupta assured the people that these problems are a matter of few days only and a blue print has been made   to take care of these problems and the things are going to improve very soon. He said, it is his dream to make Gandhi Nagar a Model Constituency, not just of J&K State but of the whole country and he promised that he will work tirelessly to achieve this and will not rest till the day his dream is fulfilled.
