JAMMU, Jan 15: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta conducted an extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar Constituency, today. During the tour, Gupta took the stock of basic amenities in Greater Kailash area. Addressing the gathering in the area, Gupta said the black topping work of interior roads of Ambika Colony; Swaran Nagar and adjoining areas have been completed in the area.
This was the long pending demand of the locals. Gupta assured public that the other works undertaken will be completed in a time bound manner to benefit the locals at the earliest. Gupta stressed for ensuring transparency in the working of the departments and asked the concerned officers to submit the status reports regularly to his office. He asked the officers to adopt cost efficient methods for quality work.
On the Occasion, Kavinder Gupta expressed his satisfaction over the decision of the Government for approving the locations for the approved 40 new colleges across the State. He said the students after passing out from the Higher Secondary schools shall have a better option within the State itself for the higher studies. He said the intake capacity of already running colleges was less as compared to pass outs from senior secondary examinations. After opening of the new colleges the students with lesser marks shall also be able to continue with the desired courses within the State, he added.
Kavinder said we have also got one such new college sanctioned at Kunjwani and Sainik Colony, and definitely the students from the adjoining hamlets would be benefitted from this. Moreover, there shall also be recruitments in such colleges thus providing employment to the highly qualified scholars of the State and other youth at different posts.
Gupta was accompanied by Vinay Gupta, Capt. (retd) Jagmeet Singh, Rohit Verma, Naresh (Nishu), Booti Ram among other local leaders of the party.
Locals brought some other issues related to pending old age pension cases, provision of tri-motorised scooters to differently able persons, drainage system and other issues pertaining to street lighting, disposal of garbage etc.
