Kavinder calls on Maharashtra Governor, discusses various issues

JAMMU, June 25: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta paid tributes to Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the Jan Sangh founder on his 65th death anniversary at a function held at Mumbai.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said “BJP in J&K was in coalition with PDP to respect the mandate of the public and for the balanced development of all the rejoins of the State, most importantly for the return of peace to Valley from where the PDP has got the mandate.
“We did not like certain decisions, so we decided that it is better to stay out. Governor’s rule is required in the State now,” Kavinder said.
“During the regime of BJP-PDP Government, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited the State several times and announced several development packages,” Gupta said.
Later, former Deputy Chief Minister met Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Maharashtra, at his residence and discussed several issues related to the tourism, Amaranth Yatra and scope of industrial development in J and K with him. Gupta also urged him to extend his support for motivating the investors to come to Jammu and invest in manufacturing and other sectors.
Gupta briefed the Governor regarding the present situation of the Kashmir after the BJP’s withdrawal of support from PDP. He said that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir would again be normal within couple of months as the security agencies are on its mission to get the real freedom from terrorism after almost three decades of  bloodshed.
“Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed turmoil during these three decades. Now our Government at Centre is very much serious to make the J&K State terrorism free and also concerned about the citizens of the State to live with prosperity,” he added.
Gupta also extended invitation to Governor Maharashtra to visit the State of Jammu and Kashmir as there is much potential of tourism in Jammu and Ladakh areas besides that situation is improving in the Valley as well.
Kavinder also discussed advanced solid waste management system adopted by the Government of Maharashtra, Property Tax and other types of taxes being collected by the Municipal Corporations of Mumbai.
