JAMMU, June 10: Continuing with his untiring efforts to ensure development of each and every area of Gandhi Nagar Assembly constituency, former Deputy Chief Minister and Ex-MLA, Kavinder Gupta, along with BJP Jammu district president, Vinay Gupta, local corporator, Tirath Kour, party leader, Paramjit Singh, Subhash Choudhary and Vijay Sharma, visited Ward Number 58 near Digiana Ashram and kick started the construction of road with a cost of Rs one crore.
He also inspected the ongoing development projects of Rs 7.5 crore and asked the local activists of the party to keep watch on the quality of work.
Kavinder Gupta, on this occasion, said that the focus has been to ensure proper water facility, maintenance of lanes and drains, besides starting new projects so that the people are not deprived of the basic amenities. He said that it is for the first time that a road is being constructed for the convenience of the people of Sukh Sehaj Palace and Green Avenue’s Akali Kour Singh Nagar areas, whose voice was never heard by the previous elected representatives.
Kavinder Gupta assured that the pace of developmental activities in Gandhi Nagar would be further accelerated so that it becomes a Model Constituency.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta in a separate statement has asked the Government to put on hold the Purchase Committee decision to buy distribution transformers.
After a delegation of Association of Industries called on him here, today and brought to his notice the problems being faced by the local small scale industry, he rang up PDD secretary, Rohit Kansal and I&C Secretary, M.K Diwedi, asking them to put in abeyance the decision of the Purchase Committee regarding the purchase of distribution transformers.
Earlier, the delegation members brought various difficulties being faced by the local industry to his notice, including the issue of tendering process and allocation of works.
They told him that till a comprehensive industrial policy or package is announced by the Government, the tendering and allocation process of Government purchases be deferred forthwith.
Gupta also spoke to Kansal and Diwedi and asked them to put on hold the Purchase Committee decision as regards the purchase of distribution transformers.
The delegation was led by Association’s senior vice-president, Bansi Lal Gupta and general secretary, Pardeep Vaid.
