Kaustubh from Rajasthan sails into semis of All India Devotional Song Competition

JAMMU, Oct 15: In the last day of the preliminary round of All India Devotional Song Competition, Kaustubh from Rajasthan clinched first position and sailed into the semis of the competition, which will be held tomorrow.
The second position in this last preliminary round was secured by Lalit Bhardwaj of Jammu, whereas the third position was shared by three participants namely Shriya Sharma from Ludhiana, Rajiv Salotra and Sarabjeet Singh, both from Jammu. These four contestants have now qualified for the quarterfinal round.
Cash prizes of Rs 10000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 were given to first, second and third positions holders respectively.
The last preliminary round of the competition was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ramesh Kumar and Director Tourism OP Bhagat in presence of Celebrity Singers Sunil Matto and Rajan Gill, Commandant CRPF Jitender Kumar Gupta, Chairman All Devotional Song Committee and President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, SDM Katra Ashok Choudhary, Assistant Director Tourism Katra Umesh Shan, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj, Virender Kesar, Shyam Lal Kesar and Ajay Sharma.
The competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Dr Surinder Sharma Head of the Department Music Government Degree College Sanjoli Himachal Pradesh, Dr CL Verma Ex-Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh and Sanjeet Kumar Professor Department of Music GDC Women Udhampur and former winner of AIDSC.
On the occasion, the celebrity singers Sunil Matto and Ravi Matto enthralled the audience with their melodious songs. Rajan Gill, former winner of this competition too mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice.
The proceeding of competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of the competition.
