Two abducted Indians released in Nigeria

NEW DELHI : After remaining in captivity for over two weeks, two Indians were set free by their kidnappers this morning, in Benue state of Nigeria.
Mangapudi Srinivas and Kaushal Anish Sharma, who were kidnapped on the morning of June 29 from an area called Boko near Makurdi, were released today at 1030 hrs IST. “Both have spoken to their families., ” MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup told reporters here.
Ms Sharma profusely thanked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for ensuring safe release. “She also thanked the Ministry and the Mission for keeping the family informed of developments almost on daily basis,” the Spokesperson said. (AGENCIES)
