KATHUA/BILLAWAR, Dec 1: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh received a rousing welcome on his arrival, first at Kathua and later at Billawar, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates, Rajiv Jasrotia and Dr Nirmal Singh filed their nomination papers today for the two Assembly constituencies respectively.
Talking to the media at Kathua,Dr. Jitendra Singh said, it was Kathua from where BJP recorded highest winning margin during the Lok Sabha elections and he was sure that it is again going to be Kathua which will herald BJP’s victory march in the State Assembly elections.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, all the other political parties are so much baffled by the rising popularity graph of BJP that they are trying to distract our Karyakartas by raising non-productive issues, but the BJP leadership is firm on its agenda of “Vikas” (development) and it has succeeded in compelling all the rival parties also to prove their credentials on the agenda of development, progress and corruption-free governance. People are no longer ready to be bluffed by emotive slogans or non-productive rhetoric,he added.
People have judged BJP on the basis of its performance both at the Centre as well as in the BJP ruled States, said Dr. Jitendra Singh and claimed that the common man in Jammu & Kashmir is yearning to replicate the same model of governance as seen in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other States. This is a governance based on results and justice without any consideration of caste, creed or community, he added.
A new realization of true democracy has dawned in the country and a handful of self-serving individuals or families will not be able to deprive Jammu & Kashmir of the virtues and advantages of democracy simply for their personal interests, said Dr. Jitendra Singh.
