Kathua police solves Rs 1 cr robbery case

KATHUA Nov 24: Kathua Police in a major breakthrough succeeded in solving the sensational Rs. one crore Highway robbery case and arrested eight accused involved in the robbery and recovered cash.
The Incident took place on October 26 in the late evening, when accused in a planned conspiracy boarded a Bolero and intercepted a goods carrier truck belonging to Montage Industry Pvt Ltd, Bari Brahmna on NHW near Barwal Morh, Kathua and looted the money on gun point from the goods carrier.
On this incident, police registered a case FIR No 398/2018 U/S 341,392 RPC U/S 3/25 Arms Act and investigation started. During investigation number of suspicious persons were interrogated. After sustained and strenuous efforts, Kathua Police succeeded in unearthing the sensational robbery case and arrested eight accused involved.
They were identified as Kiran Bhagat alias Chottu, son of Sham Lal of Kheri Sandi Samba, Pintu Jamwal, son of Darmaze Singh R/o Raipur Samba. Gourav Kumar Gautam, Son of Lekh Raj Goutam of BulandSher, UP at present Sector No 7 Gangyal, Jammu, Vikas Talwar, son of Rajesh Talwar of Maitra, Ramban, Ajay Kumar, son of Baber Singh of Sikanderpur Mujaffar Nagar, Khatli, UP, Yogesh Salgotra, Son of Mohan Salgotra of Greater Kailash, Jammu, Rajat Kagial alias Raju, son of Chaman Lal of Jorian Jammu and Varun Singh, son of Popinder Singh of Ward No 10 Budhwani Samba.
Police also recovered looted money to the tune of Rs 29, 84,500. More arrests and recovery is expected in the case wherein further investigation is going on.
