KATHUA, Feb 8: Kathua Police today seized 40 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed 1000 litres of desi lahan in Nagri area.
Acting on tip off, Police team of Police Post Nagri led by SI Vikas Jasrotia incharge Police Post Nagri today conducted a raid in village Chack Dhrab Khan area falling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagri and recovered 40 litres of illicit liquor and also destroyed 1000 litres of lahan recovered from spot.
Besides Police also seized the utensils and equipments used for illicit distillation. The accused person who has been identified as Mohinder Paul alias Babi, S/o Chuni Lal Sansi R/o Chack Dhrab Khan Nagri however managed to escape from the spot. A case FIR No 49/2018 US 48(e) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Kathua and search for the accused is going on.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of S.S. Sambyal Dy.SP Headquarters, Kathua and overall supervision of Sanjay Parihar JKPS Additional SP Kathua.
The raid was conducted on the instructions of Inspector, Anil Sharma, SHO Kathua and on the overall directives of SSP Kathua Suleman Choudhary.
