Kathua police recovers 578 intoxicating capsules, arrests 2

KATHUA, Feb 3: In continuation to its war on drugs, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today recovered 578 intoxicating capsules (marked as SPM-PRX+) in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua and arrested two persons involved in the drugs trafficking.
Police said a team of PS Kathua headed by PSI Fida Hussain under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar-during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area near Sabzi Mandi Ward No. 14 Kathua noticed two suspicious persons enrouted from Gate No. 07 CTM Kathua towards Sabzi Mandi Kathua and trying to hide something on seeing police party.
On physical checking, of Navjot Singh, son of Gurdeep Singh of Nanak Nagar, Jammu one black polythene was recovered which contained approximately 309 intoxicating capsules (marked as SPM-PRX+) whereas on physical checking of other person namely Sourav Sabarwal, son of Jagdish Raj of Nanak Nagar Jammu, police team was able to recover 269 more intoxicating capsules thus by making a total of 578 No’s of SPM-PRX intoxicating capsules which were recovered from their illegal possession. Both the persons were arrested by the police party and the intoxicating capsules were seized on spot.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 53/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act got registered at PS Kathua and further investigation into this matter has been initiated.
Kathua Police again requested people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illicit activity on 100 with Police for the cause.
