Kathua police observes Thana Diwas at Lakhanpur

KATHUA: Mar 14: As a part of a public outreach programme “Thana Diwas” an initiative of Government of J&K was organised in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur.
The Thana Diwas programme was chaired by Additional SP Kathua, Paramjeet Singh.
Accompanied DySP DAR Kathua, SHO PS Lakhanpur along with other police Officers and officials of the Department were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by the civil society members, Sarpanch, Panch, Numberdars, Chowkidars and respectable citizens of concerned area.
The objective of the “Thana Diwas”  was to discuss and acquaint with the problems of the general public of the concerning area and to develop a sense among the general public that Kathua Police is very much concerned to readdress the genuine issues of the public.
During the meeting officers assured the participants about the commitment of District Police Kathua to its fight against the social crime and to provide safe and secure environment to the law abiding people.
They added that propagators of drug menace will not be spared at all and shall be dealt firmly under rule. They further appealed the participants to cooperate and assist the police to weed out the menace of drug abuse from society.
At last the officers complimented the participants for sparing their valuable time to attend the meetings. The participants appreciated the initiative of the Government to organise the ‘Thana Diwas’ by J&K Police which will help in prompt redressal of their issues.
