Kathua police arrests tout from COVID Centre

KATHUA, Apr 14: Kathua police today arrested one tout from COVID Centre Lakhanpur.
Police said an information was received through reliable source at Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur that some touts are wandering at COVID centre Lakhanpur and facilitating the people coming from outside into J&K (UT) by getting money from them for their personal gain.
Acting on the information police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur led by SHO, Sumit Sharma on the directives of SSP Kathua, Ramesh Chander Kotwal immediately swung into action and PSI Swarn Singh along with ASI Roshan Lal apprehended one tout namely Zakar Hussain, son of Mohd Irfan of Mehtabgarh, tehsil and district Kathua along with car bearing Registration Number JK08J/8226 and a case FIR No. 53/2021 U/S 188/269/270 IPC stands registered against him and put him behind bars.
Moreover 14 cases also registered at Police Station Lakhanpur against COVID-19 violation. Kathua police has appealed the general public to follow the COVID -19 guidelines and SOPs for their own safety as well as the safety of others.
