JAMMU, Sept 24: Terming Kathasatisagar a great contribution in community development, revival of cultural ethos and civilization of Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary, J&K UT today gave kudos to its authors Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, Skill Development University, Gurgaon, Haryana and Dr C K Garyali a retired IAS Officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.
Atal Dulloo, who was the chief guest during the book release function here, today said Dr Garyali writes books so that they can reach people and Kathasatisagar jointly written by her and Raj Nehru touches history, culture and ethos of Kashmir.
He termed it a valuable book and it is a big contribution to community development.
He also complimented Helpline Humanity which has arranged the book release function.
Dr Garyali, while speaking on the occasion said “The book is based on stories which we have heard from our parents, grand parents and elders in the society”,. She said it is supposed to be history. The book is message from older generation to younger generation so that over 5000 years old civilization of Kashmir is not forgotten.
Expressing concern over plight of displaced Pandits, she said some people of community are still in deprivation and without jobs. She said “With our collective efforts we can pull out community from the difficulties which it is facing at present”.
Dr Rashmi Singh Commissioner, State Taxes while speaking on the occasion complimented two authors of the book for writing history through folklore.
P K Bhat, Director Development Expenditure said Kashmir has been a seat of Indian culture from times immemorial and it is our prime duty to restore its past glory.
Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, K K Sidha stressed on preserving the culture and ethos. Kashmir has over 5000 year history and it is origin of history, literature and ethos. He also eulogized the role of Helpline Humanity. He termed Kasthasatisagar an informative book.
The thought provoking papers on the book were read by P N Pandita retired SSP, Vijay Wali an art critic and Dr Mahes Kaul, a freelancer.
Ramesh Hangloo, president Pir Panchal and Anil Bhat Bureau chief PTI also spoke on the book.
The vote of thanks was proposed by M K Bhat of Helpline Humanity while Ramesh Marhata managed the stage. The welcome address was read by B K Jalali.
