JAMMU, Oct 13: Jammu based Bhavishya Academy an upcoming Institute of Music and Dance, affiliated to Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh is organizing for the first time an event “Kala Darpan” at Abhinav Theatre here on October 15 (Sunday).
Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Culture, Education, Technical Education, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks will be the chief guest.
The 90-minute event is being choreographed by Parul Bhateja, who is a disciple of Pt Jai Kishan Maharaj, son of Pt Birju Maharaj and Gauri Diwakar.
The event aims at showcasing performances of Kathak by young and dynamic performers that blends the seamless singing of classical music to promote a new take on the traditional Indian dance form.
The event will comprise group performances of Kathak and solo performances of Indian classical vocal singing.
The classical art lovers, young dance performers and enthusiasts of Jammu would be benefited by this unique event.
