Srinagar, Oct 22: Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today held a rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Sonwar which was attended by hundreds of youth. The rally was addressed by BJYM national president and MP Poonam Mahajan, Secretary BJP & Incharge BJYM, Sanjay Baru and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and other senior leaders.
The BJYM national president Poonam Mahajan, who was on her maiden visit to Kashmir, said in her address that they want to carry forward the agenda of ‘Insaaniyat, Jamhooriat and Kashmiriyat’. “The massive gathering here indicate the youth of Kashmir want to carry the mission of peace and prosperity initiated by the present Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, she said.
She said the three years rule of Bhartiya Janata Party Government in J&K led to the “prosperity of State and the present gathering indicates Kashmir is limping to prosperity”. “Some elements want to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere created by BJP for their vested interests,” Poonam added.

She said BJYM want to carry the mission of Vajpayee. “India’s future is sitting here,” she said while pointing towards the gathering. “Despite hardships and tough circumstances youth (Kashmiri youth) didn’t lose hope and want to live with India for prosperity,” Poonam added.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said the BJP Government at Centre and State want peace and friendship with Pakistan but anyone who speaks language of gun would be responded in similar manner.
“We want friendship and you must be aware that PM Narendra Modi went directly to Lahore from Afghanistan. This is what BJP is. This is our Government. We at Centre and State want peace,” Singh said.
Dr Singh while recalling the speech of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee which he had made from Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in 2003 said: “It was presumed that soon after BJP comes into power at Centre, they will attack Pakistan. But our Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, from this stage, said ‘we can change friends not neighbors and if that neighbor behaves well then we can go ahead in development’.”
He said the incumbent PM Modi adopted Vajpayee’s line and invited the then Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharief at the time of his oath ceremony. So many things were said about Modi but you should know that when his oath ceremony was going to take place, he invited all leaders of SAARC and particularly the PM of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharief in order to convey that we (India and BJP) are not like what is being said about us,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said both Vajpayee and Modi gave message of peace to Pakistan and brushed aside all the presumptions that were made by certain sections with regard to BJP.  Reiterating his stand against militants and truce violations from across the border, Dr Singh said. “We have said that one who speaks language of gun would be replied in same manner”.
He said the terrorism and separatism has left J&K behind in development and has given nothing to the State. He alleged that separatists want chaos and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir to prevail. “But, our Government tried to improve situation as well as carry on development,” he said. He said the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh voted PDP and BJP to power for delivery of good governance.
“We faced a lot and our Government came to power at a time when situation was grim…it have been two-and-a-half years since we assumed power but we tried to deliver good governance and a lot has to be done,” he said.
