Manu Khajuria’write up reflects lot of her pride for being a Jammu Dogra and I commend her for this.She believes that since Dogra Rulers created this State,we as Dogras have certain kind of responsibility for Kashmir as well Kashmiris.I assure her that we have been made to go overboard,by GOI and weak political class of Jammu,in discharging our responsibilities to make them feel at home in the State as well in India so much so that we have forgotten our self respect and self esteem and are leading a life of second grade permanent citizens of the State,thanks to the constitutional safeguards which are Kashmir valley specific. Kashmiris of today are a homogenous entity in the Valley and lack of contradiction should bind them togather like never before. Still if Kashmiri is killing Kashmiri, I feel sorry for them and that’s it.It is time, we Dogras should focus on our selves and solve our own problems of retrieving our justful and rightful place in the state, if the state has to survive as single entity.Our main area of interest is to achieve Legislative equality,neutralize those State Subject laws which decriminate against us because of what we stand for and as well belonging to Jammu region. We have to fight our own struggle as Kashmiris are fighting theirs,both on political and religious front. Iwish them goodluck. But I want riddance from all those constitutional safegaurds which give them supremacy on us for no faults of ours.And if the last resort is trifurcation,let so be it.Why should I,as a person from Jammu, advise them on what scale of radicalism they have to practice their religion or on what scale of political freedom,they desire to negotiate with India. Similarly, why should I let a group of literate and semiliterate legislators decide my fate about being grade two citizen or make us swallow the effects of 29th amendment in J&K constitution which will keep every Jammu Dogra subjugated to Kashmiri dominance till beyond 2025.
Jammu, God willing,will survive as an independent unit and would regain its pride and lost glory.People of eminence like Manu Khajuria must support the stark reality of present times as it stares at us. Kingdoms and Sheikhdoms are the things of the past and one can learn his or her history from the past era and it is mandatory that each one of us from Jammu must learn it. Otherwise, we may be condemned to repeat it.
