JAMMU, Sept 24: Kashmiri translation of Srimad Bhagavad Gita was released on the 73rd birth anniversary of Anand Swami Pran Nath Bhat (Gareeb) Bhaijee at Sanjeevani Kuteer Krishna Satsang Bhawan, Wazir Bhagh, Surya Vihar Anand Nagar Bhori, here today.
The book was released by prominent personality of the community which comprised of Gurumata Teja Bhat (Shahji), KK Khosa president KPS Jammu, Dr Kshema Kaul-an eminent writer and scholar, Raj Kumar Trisal (Radesh Dar Prabhuji) of Gaudiya Math Roopnagar Jammu, Ramesh Hangloo, Director Radio Sharda, Dr DN Sopori, Kamlesh Tufchi, Avtar Hogami and prominent writer scholar, Badrinath Pandita (Abhilash).
The function was presided over by KK Khosa and Dr Kshema Kaul was the guest of honour.
The book authored by Anand Swami is unique in more than one way as it contains chapter wise central ideas of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and is available both in Hindi and Urdu dialect. The book also contains Mahima of each chapter.
Speaking on the occasion, KK Khosa said that the chapter wise summary and Mahima of Bhagavad Gita contained in the book is a unique experiment of Anand Swami who was a prominent saint of the community. The book immediately drags the attention of the reader.
Dr Kshema Kaul recalled her association with the Sanint Scholar and stated that he very often used to quote verses from the Bhagavad Gita and would provide a detailed explanation of the verses. “Deep impression of various verses of Gita on the mind of the author was visible in many of his 200 Bhajans/Leelas published in two volumes of Sanjeevani,” she said.
Radesh Dass lauded the efforts of the writer in writing his commentary adopting a nondual approach and compared the style of writing to the one adopted in ‘Bhagvad Gita As It Is’ which was released way back in 1971.
Dr DN Sopori, Kamlesh Tufchi, Avtar Hogami, Ramesh Hangloo, VK Bakshi all congratulated Abhilashji and Prof GL Koul for the successful efforts in getting the book published. The proceedings were by PK Rain and RK Pandita.
