JAMMU, Apr 21: On a relaxed April weekend, the touch, feel and fragrance of the Kashmiri ambience created at Blue Coriander, the multi cuisine restaurant at Lords Inn Jammu (a unit of Grand Plaza Hotel Pvt Ltd), with Kashmiri brassware, kangri and rich music soothes the senses.
As one soaks in the cool space of the restaurant, the ongoing food festival – Feast from Kashmir regales the foodies with an array of aromas, flavours and delicacies.
The festival offers Kashmiri cuisine, with chef More, Gaurav and Wani and their team creating an exhaustive menu that boasts of specialty dishes from different regions of Kashmir. “The traditional Kashmiri meal, known as Wazwan, is an elaborate, multi-course affair that offers a variety of rich and aromatic dishes. The preparation of Wazwan is considered an art form and Kashmiris regard it as an integral part of their culture and identity. Kashmiri cuisine is famous for the generous use of spices such as cardamom, saffron, fennel, asafoetida and locally grown chillies, said More, Executive Chef.
He concluded by stating that the festival also has a host of tempting options for those who like to experiment with their plate.
“To recreate the taste of Wazwan, our expert chef Bashir Wani who hails from Kashmir created a menu with specialities such as Rogan Josh, Mazz Dhiyanwal Korma and Gushtaba. Vegetarians can try Kashmiri Lal Paneer, Dum Aloo, Nadru Yakhni and Chuk Wangan among others”, explained Dinesh Sehji, GM of the hotel.
The unlimited buffet dinner spread @ Rs 999 for non veg and Rs 899 for veg and lunch menu @ Rs 899 for non veg and Rs 799 for veg will feature classic desserts such as Kashmiri Phirni and Shufta. To exemplify the overwhelming spirits of Kashmir, each guest would be welcomed with hot cinnamon tea with almond base called Kahwa. The food fest will start from today and conclude on May 8.
