REASI, May 7: Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that Kashmir issue is settled beyond any debate and those seeking to rake it up as an issue, are doing so out of a vested political interest.
Addressing a largely attending public function here, organised by “Ekal Vidyalaya Samiti”, Dr Jitendra Singh said, “now it is a war of perceptions and we are ready to fight it out conclusively”. He said, Kashmir is a closed chapter for 125 crore people of India and we shall not allow a handful of self-seeking activists or self-styled intellectuals to open this chapter, thus holding to ransom the future of the youth of Kashmir.
Taking a dig on those Kashmir centric political parties, who are time and again raking up this issue, he said they have been raising this issue because they have been thrown out of power or they belong to so-called separatist camp.
“They have a vested interest in keeping the Kashmir pot boiling to sustain their relevance while for us the battle is on that part of Kashmir which is under the forcible occupation of Pakistan,”he added.
He said the maximum portion of Kashmir which was ruled by Maharaja has been annexed by Pakistan and that belongs to us.
The BJP Government will change this perception as J&K was ours and will be ours for ever, he added.
Earlier while talking to reporters, Dr Jitendra Singh expressed grave concern over human rights violations by Pakistan in Baluchistan and other parts of PoK, said the neighboring country is epicenter of HR violations in the sub continent.
He said HR violations unleashed by Pakistan in Gilgit and Baltistan which are under its illegal occupation “is cause of concern for us and we have to ensure when neighborhood is on fire its ramifications should not have on the region and involve the Indian peninsula.”
He said the inhuman acts of Pakistan are not only condemnable but an eye opener for the entire world that Pakistan is suppressing its own subjects.
On the recent acts of violence in Kashmir, Dr Jitendra Singh said that soon peace will be restored in Valley as the security forces are acting more professionally now and the Kashmir will start moving ahead like other parts of country and it will be back on track within some weeks.
Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that the youth of Kashmir wished to be a part of the development journey led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed the confidence that situation in Kashmir will come back to normal very soon.
Dr Jitendra Singh called for liberal support to non-profit making educational institutions like Ekal Vidyalaya which are aimed at imparting education to the poorest of the poor in the most remote and inaccessible hilly terrains.
Earlier, enumerating some of the numerous works undertaken in Reasi district during his past three years of term as Member of Parliament from MPLAD and other sources, Dr Jitendra Singh referred to the setting up of 1965 War Memorial including a park and a Vijanta tank, upgradation of dental section of District hospital, construction of students hostel (Chhatravaas), world – class hi-tech weather forecast equipment at Saanjhi Chhat ,over Rs 150 crore worth roads under PMGSY, construction of hutments for flood affected victims and completion of Katra to Reasi road.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the difference made in the last years of Modi Government is that each and every reform, ranging from Jan-Dhan Yojana to re-monetisation, is aimed at empowering the poor instead of making claims about eradication of poverty.
Addressing the function, VHP senior leader and Head of Ekal Vidyalayas in the country Sham Ji Gupta said that Ekal Vidyalaya is emerging a great movement in the country for its transformation and restoration of Ram Rajya. He said this transformation will start from villages so Ekal Vidaylaya is stressing to bring a revolution from the village level. He said so villagers need to be awakened about this movement as the prosperity of nation lies on villages.
