JAMMU, Apr 11: Expressing serious concern over the outbursts of separatists and some main stream political parties on the return and rehabilitation of exiled Pandits in Valley, VHP today asked the Government to take the victims of terrorism into confidence before setting any return formula into motion.
Talking to reporters here VHP patron, Dr Rama Kant Dubey and its other senior leaders including Dr Shyam Lal Gupta and Sukh Ram said that Central and State Governments should not play with the sentiments of the minority Pandits who are the victims of terrorism and were forced to flee from Valley by the militant groups and separatists.
He said Kashmir has no more been a paradise on earth after the Pandits who are the aborigines of Valley and have over 5000 year old history and civilization were forced to leave the Valley on gun point.
He alleged that politicians of Kashmir and separatists are shedding crocodile tears on return of Pandits and they are changing colours from time to time. He said the leaders of Kashmir are changing statements from Delhi to Kashmir on the issue of Pandits return and this way the problem can’t be settled. He alleged that neither the Delhi Government nor the State Government took the Pandits in to confidence on this important issue and the ongoing drama can prove dangerous.
Lambasting the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Dr Dubey said that on what basis he says that only 15 percent Pandits will return. He said if there is any paradise on earth that is Jammu which gave refuge to terrorism victims including Pandits, Sikhs and Muslims.
Dr Dubey said there are over two lakh refugees in Jammu who have constructed over 30,000 houses here. No one talks here about them. But what treatment was given to Kashmiri Pandits in Valley, he added.
He said VHP will launch a nation-wide campaign for honourbale rehabilitation of displaced Pandits and Sikhs in Valley. He made it clear that till third centre of power is demolished in Kashmir the situation will not change there.
