JAMMU, May 26: The candidates who appeared in the preliminary examination for Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) but were declared unqualified today held strong protest demonstration outside the main gate of University of Jammu and demanded cancellation of the prelim results followed by fresh examinations.
The protesting aspirants said more than thousand candidates who had secured less than 270 marks were deliberately shown qualified in the list while those who had secured more than 300 marks were out of the list which smacks of large scale irregularities having been committed by the State Public Service Commission.
The protesting aspirants demanded that State Vigilance Organization should immediately hold a thorough inquiry into the whole PT results and FIR be lodged against the chairman and members of Public Service Commission.
They said though a strong delegation of students from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh had met the Chief Minister and the Governor yesterday and brought the whole episode in their knowledge but nothing has been done till date.
The students also demanded that the Government should frame new body of Public Service Commission and conduct the preliminary examination afresh so that justice could be done with all those whose hard toiled preparations have been totally negated thereby putting a question mark on their career.
They expressed their resolve to continue their struggle till justice was provided to them that too at an earliest.
