Jammu, Aug 28: Kargil observed shutdown today against the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, bifurcation of the State and demanding the immediate release of political leaders and restoration of communication in J&K.
The bandh call was given by Joint Action Committee which comprised all religious and political parties. However, BJP unit Kargil has not supported the bandh call.
Meanwhile, Kargil including Sankoo, Suru and Drass areas observed shutdown with all business establishments, schools and private offices remaining closed.
However, the shutdown passed off peacefully with no untoward incident reported from any part of the district.
