Karan Singh inaugurates ‘Inner Vision 2014’

JAMMU, Apr 6: Member Parliament and president, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Dr Karan Singh today inaugurated “Inner – Vision 2014”, a group show of paintings and sculptures, at Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Center in New Delhi.
Noted Jammu painters KK Gandhi and Rohit Verma are representing J&K State in the show.
Dr Karan Singh was the chief guest while well-known painter of the country, Naresh Kapuria, was the guest of honour.
While speaking, Dr Karan Singh lauded the paintings of Jammu painters and termed these as outstanding one, out of all displayed paintings and sculptures. He said Rohit’s paintings are characterized in surrealist manner that reveal mature blending of pigments, create soothing and meaningful environs.
He termed Gandhi’s paintings as lively descriptions of his native soil, full of natural splendour and optimism.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rohit Verma is teaching faculty in Institute of Music and Fine Arts, University of Jammu while KK Gandhi is serving as free-lance and self-taught artist from Jammu.
Art fraternity thronged to view the exhibition with zeal in large numbers and critically appreciated it. The show will conclude on April 7, 2014.
