JAMMU, Nov 21: Principal Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring and Grievances & Information, Rohit Kansal today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell.
The meeting held a threadbare discussion on the status of various grievances pending with the Cell besides integration with Central Public Grievances Redressal & Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) was thoroughly discussed in the meeting.
The central system has more than 250 Government Departments connected electronically with the main web interface wherein prime operation feedback and review of grievances is being handled in Lt. Governor’s Grievance Cell.
The grievance cell is also looking for ways and means of up-gradation of existing setup coupled with study and analysis of contents and trends of grievances to propose measures to attest the popping up of grievances from the source itself.
In this regard while demonstrating the quantification of quality of redressal of grievances, a statistical formula was worked out by the officers in the grievance cell to assess the performance of disposal of different Government departments which in turn will imbibe the attention of departments to understand the reasons for low quality scores for accelerating the disposal in terms of both quantity as well as quality.
On the occasion, the Principal Secretary directed officers of Grievance Cell to hold short module training programmes for Nodal Officers of different departments to train them to handle the receipt and disposal of grievances on a fast-track basis.
On the requirement of technological and manpower projected by concerned officers, he passed on spot instructions for equipping the Lt. Governor’s Grievance Cell with such requisites to catalyze its efficiency and robustness.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell, Desh Prakash Bhagat, Liason Officer Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell, Mushtaq Ahmad, and other concerned officers.
