MENDHAR, July 8: The people from remote Kalaban area of Chhatral in tehsil Mendhar of district Poonch are facing acute shortage of water.
Reports said that due to damage caused to PHE pipes at many points, the water supply to at least four hamlets ( localities) of Kalaban including Tarkote, Awan and Tekrian Mandi has been affected for the last over one month. The PHE field staff has failed to initiate repair work and ensure water supply to the public. The people have brought the matter to the notice of even concerned AEE but issue could not be resolved so far. They have warned to launch protest dharna at PHE office at Mendhar.
