KATHUA, Aug 5: District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for Kailash Yatra at an officers meeting.
ADC Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan, CEO, Lakahnpur Sarthal Development Authority (LSDA), Sudershan Kumar Verma, ASP Kathua Khalil Poswal, RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh, SDM Bani, besides district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
The annual Kailash Yatra will commence from August 18 and conclude on September 1 in tehsil Bani of Kathua district.
The DC designated CEO LSDA as Yatra Nodal Officer to coordinate for necessary arrangements.
Chairman Jammu Prayatan Vikas Mandal, Ravi Mahajan, representatives of NGOs, Members of Langar Committees were also present in the meeting.
The DC stressed on making elaborate arrangements for pilgrims and directed Rural Development Department to take up the necessary repair of bridle path from Chatter Gala to Chattri- en-route to Kailash Kund.
It was decided to install temporary toilets on the yatra route, while Health Department was asked to keep available well equipped ambulance enroute to yatra to meet any health emergency. The meeting also discussed security, water supply and electricity arrangements at the places identified for the stay of the Yatris.
