JAMMU, Dec 19: A meeting arranged upon the invitation of Lt. Governor, G. C Murmu with KP Sabha representative K. K. Khosa and Ashok Braroo , senior vice president and some prominent Kashmiri Pandits to discuss issues of concerned both short term and long term in respect of KP community.
Governor was already well versed with most of the problems being faced by displaced community. He assured all help to restore the confidence of the community by augmenting the recruitment process, age concession for overaged, providing help for generating business ventures, construction of residential accommodation for PM package employees on fast track providing Ayushman cards to relief holders and several other measures. Other issues brought to the notice of Governor was voting process for elections, political empowerment, economic distress etc.
He said that no step will be taken in haste for resettlement of displaced unless complete normalcy is restored in Kashmir. He said that Government won’t risk the safety of oppressed people. He assured that all encroachment on private ownership and Hindu shrines will be removed and there is need for bringing such cases into the knowledge of the Government. The passage of Hindu Shrine Bill was also discussed and Governor was handed over a copy of the Bill by member in the delegation.
Khosa handed over memorandums of KP Sabha presented to authorities from time to time for reference of Governor as desired by him. He assured that he will be taking such initiative from time to time to keep abreast with the problems of KP community. He said that he will leave no stone unturned to make life of displaced comfortable.
