JAMMU, June 14:  Lambasting the BJP-PDP Coalition Government for hammering discrimination with Jammu region in every sphere, Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) has said  that the two years B Ed, M Ed courses should not be introduced in Jammu University till the same programme is implemented in Kashmir university of the State.
Addressing a press conference, JYF president Mohd Akram Ahmed appealed the Governor (Chancellor of JU and KU), Chief Minister (Pro-Chancellor of JU and KU) and the Minister for Higher Education Nyeem Akhtar and MoS Education Priya Sethi to immediately look into the matter and stop discrimination with Jammu people.
“How two sister universities of the State with the same Department of Higher Education are adopting two different approaches regarding B Ed, M Ed course in the State?” he asked and alleged that the Government was triggering the system towards chaos by changing the B Ed, M Ed programme in Jammu University to two years but keeping the same course in Kashmir University unchanged and for one year.
JYF warned that if the JU does not revoke its decision on the two year B Ed, M Ed course, the students would have no option other than to take to streets.
Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Rahil Malik, Tarvej Ahmed, Palvi Verma, and Amit Sharma.
