JAMMU, June 25: Jammu West Assembly Movement today staged protest demonstration against the price hike of petrol and diesel, here.
The protest was organised under the leadership of JWAM president, Sunil Dimple in which various transporters and traders participated. They were chanting slogans against the Government for increasing prices of petrol and diesel.
Dimple alleged that the Union Petroleum Minister has deliberately increased the price of petrol and diesel at the time when the price of the same at international market is very low.
He demanded the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to bring the petrol, diesel and LPG Gas under GST and take effective steps to exempt sale tax, VAT, excise duties and surcharges on the sale of petrol, diesel, LPG Gas.
Others who were part of the protest included Verinder Khajuria, Dev Raj, Kala Kumar, Lakhvinder Singh, Mukesh Mahajan, Vipan Mahajan, Rinku, Joginder Sharma and Rakesh Sharma.
