JAMMU, Aug 25: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) and Mission Statehood Jammu and Kashmir today organised a protest rally at Amphalla-Janipur road against the Government for installing meters on water connection and demanded free drinking water to people of Jammu and Kashmir, here.
The protestors were raising slogans against the Government’s announcement to install meters on water connection in Jammu and warned the Government for mass agitation will be started if water tariff is increased.
President of JWAM, Sunil Dimple demanded that free drinking water and free electricity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the Jammu and Kashmir is full of natural water resources and also demanded to start work on the Chenab water supply project which was announced by the previous Government to supply drinking water to Jammu city.
Sunil Dimple urged the Prime Minister to return our Salal and Uri Power Projects and white paper on allotment of our minerals to outsiders including power projects to be made public.
