JWAM protests against installation of smart power meters

JAMMU, Nov 9: Led by their president, Sunil Dimple, activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration against the alleged installation of two lakh smart power meters from November 15 in Jammu.
Addressing protesters Sunil Dimple flayed the privatization of PDD and demanded return of Salal and Uri hydel projects back to J&K.
He claimed that these power projects are producing electricity sufficient enough that after selling it to many other States there is much left to give free of cost to the people of J&K.
JWAM leader said that existing power meters are working properly and the new smart meters are being installed under some conspiracy to benefit the private companies.
He warned agitation against injustice by privatization of PDD and installing of smart power meters.
Dimple alleged that after the abrogation of Article 370 common man in J&K is burdened with heavy load of toll plazas, tariffs, taxes, fines etc.
Sachin Soi, Satpal Sharma, Manjit Anand, Shiv Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Rupesh Bhat, Arjun, Anmol, Rajinder Verma, Ashok Khanna and others were also present in the protest.
