JWAM holds protest, demands district status for Jammu West

JAMMU, May 19: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held demonstrations at various places to press the Government for bifurcation of the Jammu West Constituency (JWC) into two Assembly segments and granting district status to Jammu West Constituency.
Youth, who are most oppressed with Government’s new recruitment policy, in large numbers joined the protest, which was led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple.
The protesting people demanded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately step down after their defeat in just concluded LS elections, which he said shows the people’s resentment against NC-Congress Coalition Government in the State, which did nothing for the people except tormenting them by its anti-people policies.
JWAM president reminded how the Government discriminated with Jammu by putting all the dreams projects of Jammu region in cold storage and demanded the Government to grant district status to Jammu West Constituency and bifurcate the same into two Assembly segments.
