JAMMU, July 5: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today staged protest demonstration and demanded that the Government should grant District status to West Assembly Constituency along with bifurcation of West Assembly Constituency in two Assembly seats.
The protest was organised under the leadership of its president, Sunil Dimple wherein large numbers of Party activist participated. They also demanded that the Delimitation Commission and Election Commission of India (ECI) to make Jammu district a separate Member Parliament seat by separating from the Jammu-Poonch Parliament seat.
While addressing the protestors, he said that the election without the restoration of statehood to J&K is not acceptable to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir and demanded immediate restoration of statehood that too with special status and he also appealed all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir including National Conference, Congress, Apni Party and PDP to come on one platform for the restoration of the same.
Harbans Tondon, Ram Kapoor, Chaman Pawar, Sanjay Nagraj, Rakesh Pandoh, Sanjay Gupta, Pawan, Sudershan Sharma and many other were part of the protest.
