JAMMU, Mar 4: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has demanded that elections in J&K State should be deferred for one year.
In a press conference here today JWAM president, Sunil Dimple said that law and order situation is not conducive for any elections in J&K so the Election Commission of India (ECI) should defer Parliament and Assembly elections in the State.
Talking to reporters Dimple asked BJP to name their Chief Ministerial candidate.
He also said that Congress, NC, PDP, Panthers Party and Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan should make Maha Gathbandan in the State.
Dimple further demanded that President and ECI should hold delimitation of Assembly and Parliament constituencies in J&K before the elections.
Apart from this he demanded making Jammu District separate Parliamentary constituency and supported elections using EVM machines.
Dimple further urged upon the ECI, Sunil Arora that at present the peace and normalcy should be the priority of the Government and not elections.
